The Agrium Building
Calgary, AB
Agrium Inc., headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is a major producer and marketer of fertilizer and related products to service the global agricultural industry. The four storey, 140,000 sq.ft. office complex had a budget of $20,000,000. The steel structure incorporated exterior finishes such as tindal stone, curtain wall and river rock. The building also features two levels of underground parking. The underlying concept and design of the building exhibits a ‘prairie style’ architecture. Broad overhangs control heat gain during the summer months. The perimeter wall also includes indentations to maximize daylight to the majority of the office spaces. Three atrium spaces bring additional daylight to the central areas of the building.
