Confederation Bridge Traffic Management & Toll System

The 13 km Confederation Bridge joins Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick on Canada’s east coast. It is a privately financed, designed, constructed, operated and maintained project. Motorist safety and security is enhanced by a sophisticated Traffic Management System. IBI Group was responsible for functional and detailed engineering, software development, device integration and on-site implementation.
Features of the Traffic Management System are:

The Traffic Management System is based on networked Windows NT computers with fibre-optic communication to programmable logic controllers for field device monitoring and control.
